Job summary

Dearing Compressor & Pump Co is seeking an experienced pipe fitter to lay out, assemble, and install threaded pipe systems on compressor packages. You will select pipes, plan installations, cut and thread pipe, and join sections while ensuring structural support and leak testing.

The role requires working with metal pipes of various materials, welding pipe supports when needed, and collaborating with the assembly team.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Education/experience as described: AA degree or 6 months to 1 year related experience or training.
• Must observe safety procedures and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe, and related materials according to specifications.
• Plans installation to avoid obstructions and interference with other workers.
• Cuts and threads pipe.
• Assembles and installs metal pipes, tubes, and fittings (iron, steel, copper, stainless).
• Connects pipes using threaded joints.
• Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers.
• Performs air tests to detect leaks in pipe systems.
• Welds pipe supports to structural steel members.
• Tracks heat numbers for pipe runs.
• Cross-trains in other assembly functions (set-up, welding, and assembly).
