Job Summary

The Mechanical Modeling Engineer will support the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) at Wright‑Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. Responsibilities include constructing highly detailed 3‑D CAD models of foreign spacecraft, drafting notional capabilities of satellite components, modeling components or entire vehicles, producing high‑confidence answers to space system problems, and performing all‑source intelligence research, analysis, and assessments with Intelligence Community tradecraft standards.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Construct highly detailed 3-D geometric computer-aided design (CAD) models of multiple foreign spacecraft.

  • Draft notional capabilities of satellite components.

  • Model components or entire vehicles.

  • Produce high confidence answers to problems of interest on space systems.

  • Perform all-source intelligence research, analysis, and assessments with Intelligence Community tradecraft standards.


Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) with 4+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 2+ years.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

  • 2+ years of experience with SolidWorks, NX, Catia, or similar 3D CAD modeling software.

  • Industry or government experience in 3D CAD/CAE.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work individually and with teams.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with satellite system design, layout, or systems engineering.

  • Experience with aerospace industry standards and best practices.

  • Experience with U.S. Intelligence Community standards and procedures.

  • Experience working at NASIC or NSIC with 3D CAD Intelligence Community models.


Pay Range

Pay Range $87,100.00 – $157,450.00. The range is a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation.
