Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mechanical Modeling Engineer to support the NSIC at Wright‑Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH. The role focuses on constructing detailed CAD models of foreign spacecraft, including static and dynamic characteristics, layouts, and materials descriptions, ensuring compatibility with client standards.

Collaborating with military, government, and contractor teams, the engineer will work independently and communicate effectively in writing and verbally to deliver high‑confidence answers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of experience or Master's with 2+ years of experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• 2+ years of experience with SolidWorks, NX, Catia, or similar 3D CAD modeling software.
• Industry or government experience in 3D CAD/CAE.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; the ability to work individually and with teams.

Responsibilities

• Construct highly detailed 3‑D geometric computer‑aided design (CAD) models of multiple foreign spacecraft.
• Draft notional capabilities of satellite components.
• Model components or entire vehicles.
• Produce high confidence answers to problems of interest on space systems.
• Perform all‑source intelligence research, analysis, and assessments with Intelligence Community tradecraft standards.
