Arauco North America, Inc. in Malvern, AR is hiring a Mechanical Technician/Millwright to respond to mill breakdowns, troubleshoot equipment, and lead corrective and preventive maintenance to improve asset reliability.

The position requires 3+ years industrial mechanic experience, welding and fabrication skills, ability to read hydraulic and mechanical drawings, and strong safety focus. It offers shift coverage (8-8, 3 on/3 off), starting hourly pay $29.54–$30.91 plus profit share and gain

Qualifications

• 3+ years industrial mechanic experience (bearing, hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes)
• Millwright with verifiable industrial experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Experience in reliability techniques & lubrication principles

Responsibilities

• Respond to mill breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner and work with area operators to resolve maintenance issues
• Prioritize safety for yourself and co-workers during work
• Investigate root causes of equipment failure and recommend long-term fixes
• Lead troubleshooting and document maintenance (SAP Notifications)
• Complete work orders and PM/PD activities based on priority
• Monitor maintenance issues across the mill or assigned area
• Collaborate with operational partners, peers, and supervisors

This role works a rotating shift schedule between day and night shift. The hours are 8-8 and the schedule is 3 on, 3 off (3 days on, 3 off, 3 nights on, 3 off, 3 days on, 3 off, etc.)

What we are looking for:

• Millwright with Verifiable Industrial experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years industrial mechanic experience required (including bearings, hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes)
• Welding and Fabrication skills
• Experience in reliability techniques & knowledge of lubrication principles
• Hydraulic system aptitude and system maintenance best practices
• Ability to perform precision maintenance practices toimprove asset reliability (i.e. read and follow instructions, ability to measure bearing and shaft fits, use of torque wrench, use of V-belt tension meter, laser alignment)
• Understand and read hydraulic and mechanical drawings
• Strong, demonstrated troubleshooting skills and ability to understand and execute preventative maintenance plans

In this role, you would:

• Respond to mill breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner and working closely with area operators to resolve maintenance-related issues
• Responsible for taking your safety and the safety of your co-workers as the primary consideration when performing work
• Investigate the root cause of equipment failure and make recommendations for long-term fix
• Lead the troubleshooting and proper documentation (SAP Notifications) of all maintenance-related items
• Complete assigned work orders or other PM/PD activities based on established priority and confirm completed work timely
• Responsible for being aware of maintenance issues throughout the mill or assigned area
• Collaboration is key to Arauco's success. This role requires collaboration with our operational partners, departmental peers, and direct supervisors

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around equipment and machinery.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment.
• Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform physical tasks that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects.
• Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods, often in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels and varying temperatures
