Supports the Mechanical OFCI Director in delivering owner‑furnished mechanical equipment across hyperscale data center programs. Responsible for reviewing consultant mechanical design packages, maintaining OFCI mechanical specifications, driving submittal and factory witness test processes, updating basis‑of‑design documentation, and supporting development of new cooling architectures. This is an execution‑focused role—not the campus technical authority and requires 25–30% domestic travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review consultant mechanical design packages for OFCI alignment, scope accuracy, and integration with cooling architectures.
- Write, update, and maintain OFCI mechanical specifications, basis‑of‑design documents, and equipment standards.
- Lead OFCI mechanical submittal reviews, factory witness tests, and vendor technical clarifications.
- Support development and validation of new cooling designs (chiller plants, CRAH/CRAC, fan walls, CDUs, liquid loop systems).
- Coordinate with design teams, vendors, and construction partners to ensure OFCI equipment meets performance, controls, and interface requirements.
- Provide mechanical OFCI support during design, procurement, installation, and early commissioning phases.
- Maintain documentation, reports, and technical communication across internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Navigate active construction environments safely while collaborating with contractors, engineers, and site personnel.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years data center mechanical experience, including OFCI, cooling systems, or mission‑critical infrastructure.
- Training and hands‑on familiarity with chiller plants, CRAH/CRAC units, fan walls, CDUs, and liquid loop systems.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear technical documentation and interface with cross‑functional teams.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between active construction sites.
- Ability to work safely in dynamic construction environments, including uneven terrain, ladders, confined spaces, and exposure to weather, noise, and dust.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., maintain situational awareness, and use required PPE.
