MOHR Talent is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician for a 3rd shift role at a heavy industrial facility in Huger, SC. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, motors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems to keep production running.
Ideal candidates have 5+ years in industrial maintenance, prefer experience in heavy manufacturing, and can read mechanical drawings.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
- Experience in heavy manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability.
- Hands-on experience with conveyors and power-transmission equipment.
- Experience with gearboxes, pumps, bearings, motors, chains, sprockets and couplings.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy industrial production equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical failures involving conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, motors, bearings, chains, sprockets, couplings.
- Repair and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, hoses, regulators, and actuators.
- Replace bearings, seals, shafts, rollers, wear components, and mechanical assemblies.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Tighten up and align rotating equipment and drive systems.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a growing maintenance team at a heavy industrial manufacturing facility in the Huger, SC area.
This is a hands-on mechanical maintenance position supporting heavy production and steel-processing equipment. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, identifying the actual cause of a failure, and completing the mechanical repairs necessary to get production back up and running.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Millwright, Mechanical Maintenance Technician, or Industrial Machinery Mechanic looking for steady work, strong overtime potential, and long-term advancement.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy industrial production equipment.
Diagnose mechanical failures involving conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, motors, bearings, chains, sprockets, couplings, shafts, and rollers.
Repair and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, hoses, regulators, and actuators.
Replace bearings, seals, shafts, rollers, wear components, and mechanical assemblies.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
Troubleshoot conveyor and material-handling systems.
Perform precision alignment of motors, pumps, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
Complete equipment tear-downs, repairs, rebuilds, and installations.
Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor machining as needed.
Read mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Respond to production breakdowns and make safe, effective repairs to restore equipment operation.
Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and recommend permanent corrective actions.
Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous-improvement projects.
Document maintenance activities and completed repairs.
Follow OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, and plant safety procedures at all times.
5+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience preferred.
Experience working in heavy manufacturing, steel processing, automotive, stamping, paper mills, foundries, power generation, chemical manufacturing, food manufacturing, or similar industrial environments.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability.
Hands-on experience with conveyors and power-transmission equipment.
Experience with gearboxes, pumps, bearings, motors, chains, sprockets, and couplings.
Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Comfortable performing equipment tear-downs and mechanical component replacement.
Welding and fabrication experience strongly preferred.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment schematics.
Comfortable working around heavy machinery and in a demanding industrial environment.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during equipment breakdowns.
Strong commitment to safety and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Electrical and PLC experience is a plus but is not the primary focus of this position. We are specifically looking for strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience.
$32.00/hour base pay
$0.60/hour 3rd-shift differential
