Responsibilities

  • Safely provide mechanical services for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Use preventative and predictive maintenance techniques to keep equipment healthy.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues with cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance).
  • Follow safety rules and use hand and power tools.
  • Construct, assemble, install, repair and dismantle industrial machinery per plans.
  • Repair pumps, gears, belts, hydraulics, pneumatics and other components as directed.
  • Move machinery using hoists and powered equipment and maintain shop records.
  • Maintain 5S standards and work overtime as needed.

Job description

The location in West Carrollton, Ohio, United States, is seeking talent to fill the position of Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This job is full-time permanent.

Duties
  • Safely provide mechanical services to perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs to industrial-manufacturing machinery and equipment
  • Use preventative and predictive maintenance techniques to maintain machinery and equipment health
  • Effectively troubleshoot and solve equipment issues while working with cross‑functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Contractors)
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations
  • Safely use hand tools and power tools
  • Construct, assemble, install, repair, maintain and dismantle industrial machinery and equipment, according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings
  • Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot the following: pumps, mechanical‑power transmission components (belts, chains, gears, reducers, variable‑speed drives, shafts, sheaves, couplings, clutches, brakes), machine rolls, hydraulic & pneumatic components, cylinders, valves, fans/blowers, conveyors, bearings, tapes, hoists, cranes, elevators, mechanical seals and other equipment as directed
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on a variety of equipment
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and various powered industrial vehicles
  • Maintain accurate shop records on all responsible equipment and services
  • Keep work areas and shop areas clean and compliant with 5S standards
  • Accept a reasonable amount of overtime and emergency call in work beyond normal working hours
  • Perform other work as directed by Supervisor in a flexible team environment
Qualifications
  • Must have 5 or more years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Journeyman Card preferred.
  • Ability to construct, assemble, repair and dismantle industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to understand schematic diagrams, AutoCAD drawings, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other OEM specifications.
  • High standard of integrity and professionalism.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude consistent with maintenance‑employee norms.
  • Strong communication skills and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to follow directions, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Dependable, organized, cooperative, and team oriented.
  • Conscientious, self‑directed and disciplined.
  • Must be able to work 8, 10, or 12‑hour shifts including weekends and holidays.
Compensation

The hourly rate range is $34.07–$37.00 per hour. Holiday hours worked are paid at double‑time, Sunday hours are paid at time & a half, and shift differential is paid on 2nd and 3rd shifts. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, prescription, life insurance, paid holidays and an opportunity to participate in the 401(k) and retirement saving plans. Eligibility of up to 4 weeks’ vacation DOE.

Schedule

The new hire will be scheduled on 1st shift for the first months of the training. The employee will then follow a rotating shift on the Southern Swing Shift Pattern: https://www.worksightflow.com/posts/the-southern-swing-shift-pattern .
