Job summary

Domtar in West Carrollton, Ohio, is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for full-time permanent work on industrial-manufacturing machinery. You will perform scheduled and emergency maintenance, apply preventive techniques, and troubleshoot with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, ability to read schematics and AutoCAD drawings, and willingness to work various shifts including weekends. Domtar offers a solid benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Journeyman Card preferred.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints and OEM specs.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work 8, 10 or 12-hour shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Safely provide mechanical services for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Use preventative and predictive maintenance techniques to keep equipment healthy.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues with cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance).
• Follow safety rules and use hand and power tools.
• Construct, assemble, install, repair and dismantle industrial machinery per plans.
• Repair pumps, gears, belts, hydraulics, pneumatics and other components as directed.
• Move machinery using hoists and powered equipment and maintain shop records.
• Maintain 5S standards and work overtime as needed.
