Job summary

Mural Group is partnering with a global OEM to place two Mechanical Maintenance Technicians at a brand-new steel mill in Apple Grove, West Virginia. These direct-hire roles involve long-term, stable work at a premier facility with two openings.

You will service heavy rolling mill equipment, perform roll changes, inspect bearings, and conduct PM on entry/exit equipment and coilers in a demanding industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Heavy industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant setting.
• Millwright background with precision alignment, bearing installation, shaft fitting.
• Overhead crane coordination and basic rigging for large component moves.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly schematics.
• Steel mill, aluminum rolling mill, paper mill, or heavy industrial background strongly preferred.
• Roll change experience is a significant differentiator when available.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical systems on heavy rolling mill equipment.
• Perform roll changes on work rolls and backup rolls with crane coordination.
• Inspect and replace roll chocks and bearings; perform lubrication checks and seal maintenance; ensure alignment of couplings and shafts.
• Conduct PM on rolling mill entry/exit equipment and coilers in a hot, heavy industrial environment.

Mechanical Maintenance Technician | Apple Grove, West Virginia
$25 - $30/hr | Direct Hire | 2 Openings | Major New Steel Mill

Mural is partnering with a global industrial equipment manufacturer to place two Mechanical Maintenance Technicians at a brand-new steel mill in Apple Grove, West Virginia currently entering commissioning. These are direct hire positions with a globally recognized OEM -- long-term, stable work at one of the most advanced new steel facilities in the United States. Two openings are available.

What you will be doing

You will maintain the mechanical systems on heavy industrial rolling mill equipment. This includes roll changes on work rolls and backup rolls (large, heavy components requiring crane coordination), roll chock and bearing inspection and replacement, gearbox lubrication checks and seal maintenance, coupling and shaft alignment, conveyor and table roll maintenance, hydraulic cylinder inspection support, and general heavy mechanical PM on rolling mill entry/exit equipment and coilers. This is physically demanding work in a hot, heavy industrial environment -- and it is exactly the kind of skilled mechanical work that keeps a world-class steel mill running.

What we are looking for

• Heavy industrial mechanical maintenance experience -- large rotating equipment, bearing changes, gearbox service, and mechanical PM in a manufacturing plant setting
• Millwright background or equivalent mechanical skills (precision alignment, bearing installation, shaft fitting)
• Overhead crane coordination and basic rigging for large component moves
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly schematics
• Steel mill, aluminum rolling mill, paper mill, or heavy industrial manufacturing background strongly preferred
• Roll change experience is a significant differentiator -- if you have it, mention it
• Comfortable with physically demanding work on rotating shifts in a heavy industrial environment
• Reliable transportation to Apple Grove, WV (Mason County -- approximately 40 miles north of Huntington, WV)

Pay and Details

$28-42/hr based on experience. Two openings. Direct hire employment with benefits. Apple Grove, West Virginia.
