Job summary

NRG Energy seeks an experienced supervisor to lead the maintenance workforce at a coal-fired facility. You will plan, schedule, and oversee day-to-day and outage work, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate multi-discipline teams to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency of plant operations.

Responsibilities include managing budgets, utilizing maintenance systems for planning, and ensuring adherence to blueprints, manuals, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 5–8 years in a coal-fired power plant or similar heavy industry.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, and technical instructions.
• Experience using standard and precision tools.
• Knowledge of power plant operating principles and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance workforce and provides technical direction.
• Plans, schedules, and supervises day-to-day and weekly work.
• Assists with troubleshooting equipment problems.
• Oversees outages and coordinates cross-disciplinary work groups.
• Manages budget within assigned area and assists in budget preparation.
• Works with maintenance management system for work history, scheduling, and purchasing of materials, parts and personnel.
• Oversees predictive and preventive maintenance activities and equipment performance analysis.
• Interprets manuals, blueprints, P&IDs, and maintenance procedures.
