Job summary

TAS Energy is seeking a Mechanical Lead in Houston, TX to ensure assembly activities are executed on time and within budget under supervision. The role requires reading shop drawings, P&IDs, and coordinating with teams to maintain schedules and safety standards.

Responsibilities include leading groups, training personnel, maintaining reports, tracking KPIs, and ensuring safe operations. High school diploma and 2–3 years in mechanical assembly are required.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in mechanical assembly in a similar environment.
  • Proven ability to interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs
  • Experience using basic shop equipment (hand tools, torque wrenches, power tools)
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Excel / ERP systems)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and meet production schedules.
  • Capable of communicating clearly with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead small to medium size groups
  • Train and mentor new personnel
  • Manage shop assembly activities through daily/weekly work plans
  • Maintain project status reports
  • Ensure work is accomplished safely
  • Assist the supervisor in enforcing standards and complying with regulations
  • Track and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Monitor budgeted labor hours
  • Ensure zero recordable safety incidents through proactive planning and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Any other duties as assigned by TAS.
