Aleron is seeking a Mechanical Integrity Engineer specializing in turbomachinery (stress) to support the design function across aeros/thermal, acoustic, and structural analyses in Novi, Michigan. The contract role focuses on robust designs, engineering judgment, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

You will conduct numerical modeling, plan experiments, and deliver technical packages while meeting cost, quality, and schedule targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering or math.
  • 5+ years of product integrity experience.
  • 5+ years using Ansys, Workbench and APDL tools.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct aeros/thermal, acoustic, and structural analysis, define boundary conditions and interpret results to improve designs.
  • Plan and support mechanical experiments, prepare specs, validate results and compare with models.
  • Own technical packages and investigations, deliver milestones within cost, quality and schedule.
  • Apply engineering judgment to solve complex problems and guide colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Share knowledge and drive tool/process improvements across the team.

Location: Novi, MI

Employment Type: Contract (12months)

Compensation: $ 67.67/hr.

Schedule: 40 hrs/Week.

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or Technology or Engineering or Mathematics.
  • 5+ years of experience with product integrity/liability.
  • 5+ years of experience with Ansys, Workbench, and mechanical APDL.

  • Good technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts, which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering, and product definition.
  • Nuclear Specific - The Mechanical Integrity engineer shall exhibit good technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and have an understanding of and ability to integrate cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, hydrodynamics, thermodynamics, Stress analysis both static and dynamic, fracture and fatigue assessment, cost engineering, Installation & Commission.
  • An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters
  • Certification frameworks.
  • In the UK - attained/ working towards Chartered (regional variations).
  • Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organisation.
