Thornton Tomasetti in New York is seeking a Vice President Mechanical Engineer for the Restoration & Renewal Practice. You will lead and manage mechanical projects, evaluating steam, chilled water, hydronics, HVAC, and building systems with attention to code compliance.
You will develop client relationships, propose scopes and fees, oversee budgets and staffing, and mentor a multidisciplinary team to deliver complex designs and field-ready drawings.

Our Restoration & Renewal practice provide owners and managers with a home for solutions to a wide range of structural, envelope and building systems needs for existing properties of every use, age and construction type. Our multidisciplinary design and assessment services cover a wide range of needs. We perform condition assessments, investigations, feasibility studies and peer reviews. We design repairs, renovations and alterations and oversee their execution in the field.
We have an immediate opportunity for a Vice President Mechanical Engineer for our Restoration & Renewal Practice. We are looking for a candidate with experience in managing and executing mechanical engineering projects involving the evaluation, design, and construction of a broad range of systems, such as steam generation, chilled water, hydronics, refrigerant and water-based air conditioning, ventilation, air distribution ducting, piping, automated controls, and integration with electrical and fire alarm systems. You should also be well versed in building code analysis and interpretation.
The rate for this position generally is $180,000 - $240,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
