Comfort Temp Company seeks a skilled Mechanical HVAC Journeyman to run piping and duct work on medium to large commercial projects in Jacksonville, FL. You will install piping, duct, and HVAC components, read specs, and coordinate with foremen, superintendents and project managers to keep projects on track.

The role requires 4+ years of commercial HVAC experience, ability to read blueprints, and a valid driver’s license. We offer training, a culture of growth, and strong safety practices.

Qualificações

• 4+ years of commercial HVAC experience covering both mechanical piping and sheet metal/duct installation.
• Hands-on copper and steel pipefitting in commercial settings.
• Hands-on running square and spiral duct and setting hangers.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work full shifts in Florida heat and humidity.
• Must pass drug test and background check.

Responsabilidades

• Follow every jobsite safety rule, including heat safety through Florida summers.

Each year, we sponsor around 20 employees through the Santa Fe College HVAC Apprentice Program so they can earn a 4 year HVAC or Plumbing Apprenticeship Certificate. CT Mechanical, a division of Comfort Temp Company, has delivered plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical contracting since 2014. Our focus is commercial construction, and we also service residential and commercial properties. We're a family-rooted company with offices in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa.

Job Summary

We're hiring a Mechanical HVAC Journeyman who can run both sides of an HVAC install: the piping and the ductwork. You'll set and connect equipment, run copper and steel pipe, hang and install square and spiral duct, and see systems through to startup on medium and large commercial projects.

You'll work closely with Foremen, Superintendents, and Project Managers to keep jobs safe and on schedule, and you'll help train the apprentices coming up behind you. This role fits someone who's spent real time in both trades, or who's strong in one and has solid working experience in the other.

What You'll Do

Piping

• Select pipe type, size, and materials based on job specs, system operation, and building plans.
• Plan installation sequence to avoid obstructions and cut down on wasted pipe.
• Thread and bend pipe by hand or with a bending machine.
• Join piping by threading, soldering, brazing, fusing, or cementing as the system calls for.
• Secure pipe with clamps, brackets, and hangers.
• Pressure test piping systems and read gauges to find and fix leaks.

Sheet Metal and Duct

• Run square and spiral duct from layouts, keeping alignment and fit tight.
• Set hangers and strapping for duct, and set curbs to spec.
• Install VAV boxes and handle light fabrication on site.
• Measure, mark, and cut sheet metal with power and hand tools.
• Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair ductwork, control boxes, and furnace casings.

Across the Job

What You'll Bring

Required

• 4+ years of commercial HVAC experience covering both mechanical piping and sheet metal/duct installation.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent mix of training and experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work full shifts in Florida heat and humidity.
• Ability to gain access to state and federal facilities.
• Must pass a drug test and background check.

Preferred

• 5+ years of combined pipe and duct experience.
• Experience on large-scale commercial or industrial mechanical projects.
• A completed apprenticeship or formal training program.
