Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer in Atlanta, GA to design and analyze HVAC systems for commercial and educational buildings. The Planet Group is currently seeking a Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer for a growing company in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) industry. Qualified candidates must have 2-4 years of HVAC design experience, a Mechanical Engineering degree, and Revit proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze HVAC systems for a variety of building projects
• Develop engineering calculations, construction drawings, schematics, and project documentation
• Coordinate with clients and project teams to define project requirements and design objectives
• Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions and support project planning
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and industry standards
• Review contractor submittals and provide construction-phase support
• Participate in field observations and project verification activities
• Support related building system design efforts, including plumbing and fire protection systems as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 2-4 years of HVAC design experience within commercial, educational, municipal, or similar building environments
• Proficiency with Revit
• Knowledge of HVAC design principles, building systems, and applicable codes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
