Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer in Atlanta, GA to design and analyze HVAC systems for commercial and educational buildings. You will develop engineering calculations, drawings, and specs, collaborating with project managers, architects, and clients from concept through construction.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 2–4 years of HVAC design experience, and proficiency in Revit. EIT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of HVAC design experience in commercial, educational, or municipal settings.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency with Revit and building systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze HVAC systems for diverse building projects.
• Develop calculations, drawings, schematics, and docs.
• Coordinate with clients and project teams on design objectives.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Review contractor submittals and provide construction support.
• Participate in field observations and project verification.
• Support plumbing and fire protection system design as needed.
