Job summary

HKA Enterprises in California is seeking a Mechanical Facilities Engineer to design and lay out wet and dry piping, HVAC, exhaust, and process piping for complex industrial facilities, supporting research, development, testing, and manufacturing operations.

The role involves developing calculations, sizing equipment, retrofit existing systems, and coordinating with design teams, clients, and vendors on construction documents and tool installations.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering required.
• At least 3 years of practical mechanical facilities engineering experience including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related systems.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) actively pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

• Design and lay out wet and dry piping, equipment, HVAC, exhaust, fire suppression, process piping, and gases for complex industrial facilities.
• Develop engineering calculations; size, select, and specify equipment and components.
• Retrofit existing building systems to support tool installation.
• Support construction and integration into the factory.
• Develop utility requirement documents and installation design packages with design teams, equipment owners, stakeholders, and tool manufacturers.
• Work with clients and contractors throughout design; assist with RFIs and submittals during construction.
