Job summary

TAIT is seeking a Mechanical Fabricator to weld, assemble, and repair TAIT products. You will read blueprints, select correct materials, and deliver high-quality work within timelines.

Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and FCAW and the ability to interpret fabrication drawings are essential. The role requires adherence to safe fabrication practices, accurate dimensional control, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of welding techniques and fabrication processes.
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
• Experience with mechanical assembly/fabrication.
• Rigging knowledge a plus.
• Willingness to learn TAIT software (Epicor, Slack, Box).
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible with schedule.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints and drawings.
• Ensure correct materials and parts are used.
• Assess material and part quality before fabrication.
• Apply proper fabrication and assembly techniques efficiently.
• Use fabrication tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain tolerances and describe specifications.
• Complete quality checks and report concerns.
• Maintain traceability of modifications via documentation.
• Handle materials safely and operate lifting equipment.
• Monitor tools for wear and perform maintenance as needed.
• Support department tasks as needed.
