Job summary

ASI is seeking a Mechanical Fabricator and Technician in Birmingham, AL to support a multidisciplinary team in building custom automated and robotic systems.

The role requires fabricating, painting, assembling, troubleshooting, installing and supporting automation systems with attention to detail and efficiency. Candidates should be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and in teams.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in welding or related field preferred.
• 2+ years hands-on experience in mechanical fabrication and assembly.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• MIG and TIG weld mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum per specs.
• Prepare and paint parts and assemblies per prints.
• Read blueprints and schematics to assemble components.
• Use hand/power tools and precision measuring equipment for assembly.
• Assist in installation and alignment of mechanical systems.
