Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Estimator 1 to join our team in Tysons, VA area. The role supports senior estimators by preparing cost estimates, bid packages, and design-build proposals for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and other mechanical systems.

You will perform quantity takeoffs, review drawings and specs, gather vendor pricing, and help develop competitive bids while coordinating with engineering, operations and procurement. Must pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred; Electrical preferred.
• 4+ years with an Associate’s Degree.
• 6+ years with a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and specs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for mechanical construction.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, BIM models, and specs.
• Price change orders and scope modifications.
• Attend pre-bid walkthroughs to assess conditions.
• Coordinate with engineers, operations, procurement and subcontractors.
