Job Details

We are seeking a Remote Structural Engineer to provide actionable intelligence regarding property damages. Responsibilities include:

• Conducting site studies evaluating damages to building materials or components for residential and commercial structures, including roof systems, foundations, water intrusion, cladding, construction defects, and structural systems.
• Writing detailed technical reports on investigations.
• Providing excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
• Offering expert testimony or depositions as needed, supported by our Litigation Department.
• Engaging in ongoing training, mentoring, and certification (cost covered by the company).
• Traveling for investigations outside your region, including daily and overnight trips.

Requirements

• BSc in Civil or Structural Engineering or related fields (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)
• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Illinois
• Active NCEES record or eligibility to obtain within 90 days
• 2-3 years experience in failure analysis, construction, or related fields (preferred)
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong technical writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Office Suite
