Job summary

Jobot is seeking a seasoned Permanent Mechanical Estimator to support our HVAC, mechanical, piping, and plumbing projects. You will prepare detailed cost estimates and analyze specs to determine material, labor, and equipment needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in commercial construction estimation, HVAC/mechanical focus advisable.
• Strong math and analytical abilities; capable of interpreting specs and drawings.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with internal teams and clients.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines while ensuring accuracy.

• Review and refine estimates to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Present estimates and conduct cost-benefit analyses for management.
• Stay current with industry trends, materials, and methods to improve accuracy.
• Assist in bid negotiations and procurement of major equipment and subcontracts.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Permanent Mechanical Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be a key player in our commercial construction projects, focusing on HVAC, mechanical, piping, and plumbing construction. Your expertise will be vital in providing accurate cost estimations, which will directly impact the success of our projects. Salary: $90,000 - $160,000 per year

Responsibilities

1. Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical, piping, construction projects.
2. Analyzing orthographic drawings and technical specifications to assess material, labor, and equipment requirements.
3. Using Onscreen Take-Off, Trimble Business Center, and other relevant software for preparing estimates.
4. Collaborating with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors to understand project requirements and resolve issues.
5. Reviewing and evaluating cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
6. Presenting estimates and conducting cost-benefit analyses for management's review.
7. Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends, materials, and methods to enhance the accuracy of estimates.
8. Participating in bid negotiations and assisting in the procurement of major equipment and subcontracts.

Qualifications

1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction estimation, with a focus on HVAC, mechanical, and/or piping construction.
2. Proven experience as an Estimator or Industrial Estimator.
3. Proficiency in Onscreen Take-Off, Trimble Business Center, or equivalent software.
4. Strong understanding of orthographic drawing and ability to interpret technical specifications.
5. Excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
6. Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
9. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
