Eastman Chemical Company is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to support a manufacturing division with design, installation, and optimization of mechanical projects. You will assist in equipment specification, field verification, and startup activities while ensuring safety and reliability across processes.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills, experience in industrial environments, and proficiency with design documentation and project support.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or 5 years equivalent experience in technical field (note: degree-focused).
• Strong preference for experience in an industrial or chemical plant environment.
• Proficient in design, drafting, field verification, installation, documentation, troubleshooting of mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Support a manufacturing division in design and installation of mechanical projects, including studies, equipment specification, capital project support, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure mechanical safety in manufacturing areas and work safely.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Development, and Manufacturing teams to achieve production, reliability, and maintenance goals.
• Lead and work with Plant Engineering teams to provide technical solutions and project management.
• Assist in installation, check-out, and start-up of new or modified equipment and systems.
• Support and mentor teams, contribute to global engineering initiatives, and provide mechanical technical support for improvements.
• Utilize digital tools and software for project management and documentation.
• Produce drawings, cost estimates, and support department initiatives while ensuring safety.
