Job summary

Penn State University seeks a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join the Expeditionary Manufacturing and Repair Department at ARL. The role supports development of materials, design systems, and fabrication methods across ceramics, metals, and composites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience for Advanced Professional track.
  • Experience with mechanical design and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to manage projects and coordinate with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to plan and execute technical projects.
  • Coordinate laboratory and field activities including testing and fabrication.
  • Integrate mechanical, electrical, and computer systems into manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to technical proposals, white papers, and reports.
  • Supervise or mentor lower-level staff as needed.
