Job summary

Green Key Resources is seeking a hands-on technical leader to guide a Mechanical Engineering team in Austin, TX. You will drive system-level decisions across structural, thermal, motion-control, and manufacturing disciplines for mission-critical defense products.

You will lead execution from concept to deployment, balance risk and speed, and collaborate with product and operations to align with company objectives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional engineering experience.
• 2+ years in an engineering leadership or management role.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong experience designing electromechanical systems, robotics, autonomous systems, or defense hardware.
• Proven ability to lead teams and develop engineers.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage the Mechanical Engineering team with a focus on accountability and technical excellence.
• Provide technical leadership and review electromechanical design decisions across multiple domains.
• Oversee mechanical testing, validation, and qualification activities to meet performance and reliability requirements.
• Own engineering execution from concept through deployment with clear priorities and milestones.
• Balance schedule, scope, and technical risk to keep projects on track.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and leadership to align efforts with company objectives.
• Establish and maintain engineering processes, design reviews, and documentation standards.
