Job summary

Chism Automation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our mechanical engineering team in Somerset, KY. You will oversee custom automation projects, balance hands-on design with strategic leadership, and drive continual improvement across the organization.

You will manage staff, mentor engineers, ensure quality and documentation, and maintain strong client communications to deliver high standards on exciting automation projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Significant experience in custom automation and machinery design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and teams.
• Strong work ethic and detail orientation with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff scheduling, task assignments, and PTO approvals.
• Direct onboarding and annual training for engineering staff.
• Lead project management reviews and mentor engineers.
• Review machine work and ensure quality and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients.
• Develop clear work instructions and documentation.
