Job summary

Aquatech in Canonsburg, PA is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the summer. This in-office role is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with internship duration not exceeding 90 days and beginning in the 3rd week of May 2025.

The intern will collaborate with piping and equipment engineers, design components using mechanics and hydraulics, and build automation tools using VBA (Excel), Python, or MATLAB. Strong CAD and MS Office skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of engineering or similar collegiate classes, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of CAD tools and programming is a plus.
• Experience with engineering concepts plus basic math fundamentals helpful.

Responsibilities

• Interact with piping and equipment engineers to understand mechanical design (piping designs and structural steel).
• Develop a component design using mechanics, strength of materials, and hydraulics.
• Develop an application to automate a repetitive task within the Mechanical department using VBA in Excel, Python, or MATLAB.
• Provide a report at the end of the internship describing tasks, objectives, and conclusions.
