Cleveland-Cliffs invites motivated Mechanical Engineering interns to contribute to maintenance and design projects across our facilities in the United States. Under supervision, you will perform predictive and preventive maintenance, analyze performance, read blueprints, and participate in cost-controlled projects.

Enrollment in a BS program is required; sophomores by 2027; U.S. work authorization is required; internship opportunities may lead to future full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a BS program in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree.
• Completion of sophomore year by summer 2027.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist in predictive, preventive, and emergency maintenance of equipment.
• Research, design, evaluate, install, modernize, redesign, operate, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment.
• Resolve equipment malfunctions, including those requiring scheduled shutdowns or breakdown action.
• Participate in planning, scheduling, and cost control of maintenance/engineering projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
• Analyze current operating performance and SOPs and make improvement recommendations.
