Job summary

Koch Fertilizer in Beatrice, Nebraska, is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. The role involves hands-on work, supporting plant reliability, maintenance, and operational excellence, with a late May to mid-June 2027 start window.

You will analyze equipment data, review engineering drawings, and contribute to root-cause analysis and process optimization efforts while fulfilling core safety and physical requirements.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (as applicable).
• Eligible for full-time employment before or by May 2027.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without visa transfer or sponsorship.
• Willing and able to meet all physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Take on projects that are representative of the work our full-time engineers do, gaining hands-on experience supporting plant reliability, maintenance, and operational excellence.
• Analyze equipment and operational data to identify improvement opportunities, support decision-making, and drive process optimization initiatives.
• Support predictive and preventive maintenance efforts to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting activities to help resolve equipment and operational challenges.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation, including P&IDs, PFDs, piping isometrics, plot plans, and equipment specifications.
