Job summary

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA invites engineering students to join its University Hiring Program. This full-time, 10-12 week internship runs May or June with approximately 40 hours per week and onsite work.

Interns will contribute to medical device development for robotic systems, tackling real design challenges and gaining hands-on experience. Participants should be enrolled in a mechanical or related engineering degree, with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering degree program (Bachelor's).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Willingness to contribute to medical device development in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering tasks, problem-solving and documentation for medical device development.
• Design, assemble and debug mechanical/electromechanical test fixtures.
• Develop methods and perform performance tests on prototypes.
• Refine design concepts and contribute to design discussions.
• Collaborate with multiple teams and deliver task outcomes.
• Present project learnings to the organization.
