This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities. IMEG is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Long Island, NY. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry while working closely with experienced engineers and consultants. You'll gain hands-on experience supporting real project work from day one. In this role, you'll support work completed within project budgets, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help meet project goals and client expectations. You'll contribute to projects serving government/municipal and science & technology clients while advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.
This team supports a mix of government, sustainability, and energy projects along with technically complex building systems work. Its portfolio suggests strength in civic energy programs and infrastructure delivery where sustainability and system integration matter. State of New York Pay Range: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location. Individual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
