Job summary

Novelis in Greensboro, GA invites a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the EMRA team for about 12 weeks. The role offers hands-on work with project management, CAD design, and equipment implementation in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include supporting maintenance and process improvements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and generating change records. This on-site program prioritizes safety and practical industrial experience for students.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 4-year university and pursuing a related engineering degree.
• Sophomore to Senior or recent graduate in mechanical/manufacturing/applied engineering.
• Authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to industrial safety and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the EMRA team throughout the plant with improvements, maintenance, and repairs
• Develop improvement for general engineering processes
• Use CAD to design various tools/equipment and see through to implementation, if possible
• Generate reports and records of changes or improvements made; communicate reports and results to supervisor and other relevant plant personnel
• Work with outside contractors to scope/spec new, improved equipment for plant operations
• Work with cross-functional teams (Process, Operations, EHS, etc.) to develop new protocols pertaining to safety initiatives
