Job summary

Novelis Oswego is offering an on-site summer internship for a Mechanical Engineer intern to join the team for about 10 to 12 weeks. You will gain hands-on industry experience, report to the Associate EMRA Leader, and work on mechanical engineering tasks.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a 4-year university, classified as junior or senior, and authorized to work in the United States. Preference for mechanical engineering majors and team players who use CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University.
• Must be Junior or Senior.
• Interested in gaining hands on industry experience prior to graduation
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
• Familiar with MS Office and AutoCAD products.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer
• Prefer students majoring in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Works well in a team based environment.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.

Responsibilities

• Learn about industrial machinery, mechanical power transmission, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Provide support for various Mechanical or Reliability Engineering Projects.
• Develop and modify engineering drawings and models using CAD software.
• Participate in problem solving activities including breakdown repairs and root cause analysis.
