Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support HVAC, plumbing, process, fuels and other mechanical systems for building and infrastructure projects.

You will gain hands-on exposure to mechanical design principles, load calculations, technical software, energy efficiency, multidisciplinary coordination, and project delivery while contributing to active assignments with guidance from experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Completed coursework in engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, HVAC, or related technical subjects.
• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Basic proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit and Microsoft Office.
• Internship, co‑op, or project experience related to mechanical or building systems design.
• Familiarity with load calculation, energy modeling, or equipment selection software.
• Involvement in ASHRAE, ASME, or related professional organizations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical drawings, calculations, equipment research, reports, and other project documentation.
• Support the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, process, and related mechanical systems.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, field observations, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
