Job summary

Ghafari Associates seeks an engineering intern to work fully in-office in Chicago, IL for May–August 2027. The role applies CAD/Revit skills to generate engineering design documents, digital models and databases under the supervision of the discipline Manager or project engineer.

You will create documents using AutoCAD/Revit, collaborate with engineers during design, provide limited design input, and ensure document coordination.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline at an accredited university. Students should have completed at least (2) years of classes.
• Previous internship/coop experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create engineering documents using CAD (AutoCAD and/or Revit).
• Work closely with engineers during design phase to understand scope and data needs.
• Provide limited design on documents and detail designs with input from engineers.
• Make corrections and produce final documents for engineers’ review; check integration and coordination of disciplines.
• Reproduce documents upon request.
• May produce drawings and digital design models in 3D software applications.
• Deploy team oriented problem solving.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
