Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Minneapolis, MN to support standard engineering tasks, refine designs, and assist lead engineers on diverse projects across Aviation & Federal and Transmission & Distribution markets.
You will gain hands-on experience applying engineering techniques, communicating effectively, and developing problem-solving skills within a collaborative team. This internship starts full-time and offers exposure to real projects and benefits programs.
Our Engineering Interns are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures. This includes standard design of engineering systems, correcting and updating designs, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, and other duties assigned.

The Aviation & Federal group is responsible for program management, master planning, facility design commissioning, and operational systems design of commercial aviation and Federal & Military projects, including buildings, infrastructure, hangars, passenger terminals, fueling & ramp services, runways, and aviation support facilities.
The Transmission & Distribution group is responsible for the planning and design of electrical transmission projects in power delivery, including overhead transmission, underground transmission, distribution systems, substation design, telecommunication & network engineering, pipelines, renewable power integration, security, grid modernization and more.
$18.00-34.00 Hourly
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.
