Job summary

Valorantum is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for a 6-month co-op in Massachusetts. You will support the Direct Pressure Engineering group in designing, analyzing, building and testing capacitance sensors and transducers under senior guidance.

The role requires enrollment in a B.S. Mechanical Engineering program at UMass Lowell, hands-on use of SolidWorks, and data processing with Excel, MATLAB or Python. Travel up to 10% is possible; this is an on-site internship.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Mechanical Engineering at UMass Lowell.
• Comfortable with using standard hand tools for electromechanical devices and test systems.
• SolidWorks CAD modeling experience.
• Proficient with Excel, MATLAB or Python for data processing.
• Familiar with basic electrical testing and debugging methods.

Responsibilities

• Build prototype designs in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
• Diagnose production issues affecting sensor performance.
• Perform mechanical and thermal analyses using SolidWorks/COMSOL with guidance.
• Test pressure transducers at sensor and system levels.
• Analyze test data and produce reports.
• Support design and troubleshooting of test systems.
• Design and fabricate test equipment via 3D printing or CNC milling.
