Job summary

CONVERGIX Automation Solutions is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to design, refine, and document automated equipment concepts that meet performance, durability, and cost targets. You will mentor engineers and report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

You will update models, prepare drawings, and support cross-functional teams on multiple automation projects. This role emphasizes hands-on assembly, testing, and practical problem solving within defined budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software proficiency is required.
• Strong MS Office skills and mathematical aptitude are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems and hands-on learning approach.

Responsibilities

• Update part models and drawings.
• Maintain Bill of Materials.
• Support the Lead Mechanical Engineer on projects.
• Assist with hands-on assembly, testing, designing, and troubleshooting of custom automation equipment.
• Contribute to multiple projects daily and prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and team members.
• Work with project teams to meet budgets and timelines.

The Role

Be Part of a fast paced, leading edge Automation Equipment Design and Manufacturing company. In this position will be responsible for timely and quality completion of equipment design per the customer specifications. You will refine design concepts into practical, manufacturable designs that meet performance, durability, and cost targets. Experienced engineers will mentor you to learn automation and help you grow to be a Lead Mechanical Engineer. This position reports to Mechanical Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Update Part models and drawings.
• Bill of Material maintenance.
• Supporting the Lead Mechanical Engineer on projects.
• Assist with hands-on assembly, testing, designing, and troubleshooting of custom automation equipment.
• Contribute to multiple projects daily.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with engineers, designers,and other team members.
• Work closely with your project team to find solutions to achieve targeted functional outcomes within defined budgets and timelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Reliable transportation and an ability to travel, travel to customer/vendor facilities will be very limited.
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software.
• Proficient in MS office.
• Strong math aptitude and ability to perform basic calculations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of mechanical systems and hands on approach learning.
• Working toward a Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
• Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds.
