Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering department by conducting research and preparing technical documentation.
• Perform general office tasks with high attention to detail, including organizing reports and maintaining engineering records.
• Develop and review system diagrams to ensure compliance with vessel specifications and regulatory standards.
• Conduct basic engineering calculations for system performance and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other personnel to support various projects.

Position Overview: Bollinger is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern for a full-time, on-site summer internship at our Lockport, LA facility. This opportunity is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Ocean Engineering who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a professional, real-world environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering department by conducting research and preparing technical documentation.
• Perform general office tasks with high attention to detail, including organizing reports and maintaining engineering records.
• Develop and review system diagrams to ensure compliance with vessel specifications and regulatory standards.
• Conduct basic engineering calculations for system performance and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: Currently a junior or senior enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Ocean Engineering.
• Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
