Job summary

Worley is seeking a Department Manager, Mechanical Engineering in Charleston, WV to lead and grow our mechanical engineering team and deliver projects for energy, chemicals and resources sectors.

You will balance people leadership with technical oversight, manage scope, schedule and budget, mentor engineers, and collaborate with project managers and discipline leaders to achieve safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Typically 15+ years of relevant engineering experience in energy, chemicals, resources, industrial, infrastructure or related sectors.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, discipline groups or major project scopes.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, industry codes, standards and best practices.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary project delivery in consulting, EPC or EPCM environments.
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop technical professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Mechanical Engineering team to grow and perform at a high level.
• Support departmental planning, resource forecasting and priorities.
• Drive consistency in engineering execution, processes and quality standards.
• Identify risks and opportunities and work with leadership to address them.
