Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with aircraft design experience.
  • Masters degree preferred; Siemens NX and 3D parametric CAD experience required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design aircraft modifications to primary/secondary structures and interiors using 3D CAD.
  • Create and release drawings, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Support design validation through prototyping and engineering analysis.
  • Collaborate with peers, management, customers and cross-functional teams.

Job description

Role Mechanical Engineering Location Greenville, TX, United States Duration 12+months (Possible Extension) Shift 1st shift Pay Range $85–$90 per hour on W2 Job Description: We are seeking Aircraft Mechanical Design Engineers to support the design and development of aircraft modifications. This role will use 3D parametric CAD along with rapid prototyping and other engineering tools to create, validate, and document innovative solutions for various aircraft platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Design aircraft modifications to primary structure, secondary structure, and interior components using 3D CAD Create and release engineering drawings, procedures, and technical documentation Support design validation through prototyping and engineering analysis Collaborate with peers, management, customers, and cross-functional teams Ensure designs meet applicable standards, specifications, schedules, and budgets

Preferred Experience:

Heavy Structures modifications: Nose modification, Cheek Fairing design, Tail Extension design, Fuselage reinforcement design Interior modifications: Honeycomb panels, aircraft seating, mechanisms, interior doors (including pocket, swing, and curtain systems), interior linings (such as ceilings, sidewalls, and grid structures) Electronic Rack and Equipment installations to include support structure, equipment installation definition, environmental considerations, and internal rack wire routing methodology Composite external OML design with coordination through analysis and aerodynamics teams Wire Routing Experience, familiarity with routing paths in tight areas, signal separation, EWIS requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with six (6) years aircraft design experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.) Experience with Siemens NX and 3D parametric CAD tools Strong understanding of mechanical design principles for aircraft structures and components Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required
