Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) invites Mechanical Engineering students to join its ATAS Lab as co-op participants. You will gain hands-on experience in mechanical design, development, and documentation for large-scale prototypes and DOD applications.

Opportunities to use SolidWorks for parts and assemblies, perform design analysis, and learn fabrication processes while alternating three full-time co-op terms with academic semesters.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Must be eligible to participate in a co-op program and register for co-op credit with your university.
• Must complete at least three full-time co-op terms prior to graduation.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and documenting designs for use in DOD applications.
• Mechanical design and analysis.
• Machining, 3D-Printing, sheet metal bending, and other manufacturing processes.
• Building assemblies and integrating subsystems.
• Part finishing processes (conversion coating, anodizing, painting, etc.).
• Use SolidWorks and other design tools to create parts, assemblies, and drawings.
• Coordinate assembly and testing of large prototype systems.
