Job summary

General Motors is seeking Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer Co-ops to perform hands-on work that supports programs and operations at GM plants. You will gain experience leading mechanical projects, improving operations, and supporting replacement programs in a plant environment.

The role requires pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, with graduation between December 2027 and May 2030, and enrollment in a co-op program through Kettering University

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Must be graduating between Dec 2027 and May 2030.
  • Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Willing to work in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Analyze product, process and technology to determine best manufacturing methods.
  • Assist design/build of tools and equipment or suggest improvements.
  • Assist maintenance in operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance and equipment problems.
  • Coordinate machinery upgrade projects.
