General Motors is seeking Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer Co-ops to perform hands-on work that can contribute to our plant's efficiency. You will support programs, lead mechanical projects across different areas, and help with operations improvements and new or replacement equipment.

This onsite, full-time co-op requires pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, with graduation between December 2027 and May 2030, and enrollment in a co-op

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree pursuit in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Must graduate between Dec 2027 and May 2030.
  • Enrolled in a co-op program through Kettering University or Rochester Institute of Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical root cause analysis and problem solving
  • Analyze product, process and technology to figure out the best methods of manufacture
  • Assist in the design and building of tools and equipment or recommends improvements to existing processes
  • Assist maintenance personnel in operation and maintenance of specialized equipment
  • Troubleshoot special maintenance and equipment problems
  • Coordinate machinery upgrade projects

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology
Must be graduating between December 2027 and May 2030
Must be enrolled in a co-op program through Kettering University or Rochester Institute of Technology
