Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. in Nashville, TN is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op to gain hands-on experience designing and deploying machinery and equipment, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across the Bridgestone West region.

You will learn and apply CAD/AutoCAD, engage in process and plant engineering activities, and contribute to product design documentation while enrolled as a Mechanical Engineering student with a minimum 3.0 GPA and a 6‑month, 40‑hour weekly commitment.

Qualifications

• To be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or another applicable major and actively enrolled in an accredited university.
• Completed coursework in CAD/AutoCAD
• To be junior‑senior level standing with a GPA of at least 3.0
• To be available to work 40 hours weekly in a 6‑month minimum co‑op assignment
• No other work experience is required. We will teach you everything you need to know!

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and deploying machinery and other equipment intended to execute and improve processes
• Learning and utilizing key electrical manufacturing tools and systems; suggesting improvements as needed
• Process Engineering; support specifications and standards in areas such as compound, component, curing process, or uniformity analyses
• Plant Engineering; assist in the safe design, procurement, installation, debug, start-up and operation of plant equipment and projects
• Product Design; utilize software and standards for accurate creation, revision, and organization of documents and distribution controls
