Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. in Nashville, TN invites Electrical Engineering co-ops to join the world’s largest tire and rubber company at the forefront of innovation. You will gain hands-on experience on meaningful projects, network across the organization, and learn what it is like to be an engineer at Bridgestone.

The program supports a 6-month minimum co-op with a 40-hour workweek, offering exposure to design, controls, and plant engineering in a global setting.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or related major.
  • Sophomore–senior standing with a GPA of at least 3.0.
  • Completed CAD/AutoCAD coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy machinery and equipment to improve processes.
  • Program and integrate industrial controls hardware and software for new and existing machines.
  • Learn and apply PLC programming techniques and AutoCAD electrical.
  • Learn and utilize electrical manufacturing tools and systems; suggest improvements as needed.
  • Assist in Process Engineering; support standards in analysis areas like compound or curing processes.
  • Assist Plant Engineering with safe design, procurement, installation, startup and operation of equipment.
  • Create, revise, and organize design documents and distribution controls.

Responsibilities

Electrical Engineering co‑ops typically work on projects such as:

  • Designing, developing, and deploying machinery and other equipment intended to execute and improve processes
  • Programming and integrating industrial controls hardware and software for new and existing machines
  • Learn and apply PLC programming techniques and AutoCAD electrical
  • Learn and utilize key electrical manufacturing tools and systems; suggesting improvements as needed
  • Process Engineering; support specifications and standards in areas such as compound, component, curing process, or uniformity analyses
  • Plant Engineering; assist in the safe design, procurement, installation, debug, start‑up and operation of plant equipment and projects
  • Product Design; utilize software and standards for accurate creation, revision, and organization of documents and distribution controls
Minimum Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you need…

  • To be pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or another applicable major and actively enrolled in an accredited university
  • To be sophomore‑senior level standing with a GPA of at least3.0
  • Completed course work in Computer Aided Design (CAD)/AutoCAD
  • To be available to work40hours weekly in a6‑month minimum co‑op assignment
  • No other work experience is required.
