Job summary

Melton Machine and Control Company offers a Mechanical Engineering Co-op position that provides hands-on involvement in design, detailing, documentation, and support of automated manufacturing equipment, welding systems, and custom fixtures.

You will work with Mechanical Engineers and cross-functional teams on 3D modeling, BOM development, design reviews, and manufacturing support, gaining practical experience in mechanical design and automation.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently when required.
• Interest in machine design, manufacturing, automation, or industrial engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical design, detailing, and documentation of automated welding machines, fixtures, and related equipment.
• Utilize 3D CAD software to create, revise, and maintain engineering models and drawings.
• Support creation and maintenance of bills of material and project documentation packages.
• Assist with engineering change updates and design revisions throughout project execution.
• Maintain organized engineering files, drawings, and documentation records.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to support project execution.
• Assist with troubleshooting and technical problem solving and engineering-related tasks.
• Support project schedules and engineering deliverables as assigned.
