Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Advisor to lead design and engineering for district energy assets, including power, heating and cooling systems. You will front-end engineer concepts and coordinate with external detailed design teams and installation contractors.

With 7+ years in district energy design in North America, you will guide procurement, construction support, and technical reviews while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence across assets.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical or related engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years in design/engineering of Power plants, Chilled water, HVAC or district energy systems in North America.
  • Knowledge of gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, boilers, chillers and pipe distribution systems.
  • Experience in thermal engineering for District Energy, Utilities and CHP systems.
  • Familiarity with codes such as ASME, NFPA, ASHRAE, EN, ISO.

Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual designs for power, heating, and cooling systems with budget estimates.
  • Provide engineering support across procurement and construction, including RFPs and reviews.
  • Support construction execution with RFIs, field changes, and outages coordination.
  • Lead technical reviews (HAZID/HAZOP, FAT) and develop procedures for major equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with permitting and regulatory requirements; monitor asset reliability and optimization.
