Job Title: Mechanical Engineer SR
Work Location: Birmingham, AL
Project Context We are currently pursuing Extended Power Uprates (EPU) for PWR and BWR units. For these projects we are currently developing Design Input Requests (DIRs) to support analysis by external Architect-Engineer firms to assess the plant under EPU conditions to support the license amendment and potential plant modifications. We will be receiving Task Reports detailing the results of these analyses which will undergo validation through owner acceptance. We are seeking experienced nuclear professionals who can provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred. 5+ years of commercial nuclear power plant experience. Strong understanding of nuclear plant systems, operations, engineering, or licensing processes. Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment supporting EPU-related activities. Familiarity with nuclear plant systems, design processes, operations, or licensing. Strong technical writing and communication skills Experience at another Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) or Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) facility. Direct involvement in a Power Uprate (EPU or other uprate project) at a commercial nuclear plant. Demonstrated understanding of engineering, operations, or licensing considerations associated with power uprate implementation.
