Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Northampton, MA is seeking a Specialist Mechanical Engineer to support design efforts, perform mechanical analysis, and enhance structural and thermal performance of components. You will participate in design reviews, prepare drawings, and work with customers to meet specifications.

The role requires familiarity with MCAD/MCAE tools, field-verified analyses, and the ability to travel up to 10%. A US Secret clearance may be required in compliance with security programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; graduate degree preferred.
• 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience in design/analysis.
• Experience with structural and thermal analysis and ASME standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop working designs and MCAD/MCAE models for complex parts and optical mounts.
• Create/review drawings to ASME Y14.100 and internal standards.
• Perform structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses to validate designs.
• Collaborate with engineers to optimize designs for performance.
• Prepare technical documentation and participate in design reviews.
• Support procurement, scheduling, and program capture activities.
